NP205 Help

I was going wheeling one day in my 73 ford f250. I locked the hubs and shifted the transfer case into the third position. I then tried to drive away and heard a loud grinding and then a bang. The transfer case then seemed to lose the 2nd and 3rd position. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Not sure about your reference. Are you going front to rear? It should be 4l, n, 2h, 4h. My guess is that the linkage is loose enough that you aren't shifting all the way
