riddle me this
My truck has a 460 auto with married transfer case. What's special about it? You couldn't get a 460 4x4 correct, so what had to be done to make it work? Engine is a pre 79 460, so I know it wasn't a full swap. Is it simply just swapping a tranny from a 400 and using it's flexplate/torque converter?
I'm just curious because I read another thread where someone was going to have to modify a 2wd auto to be 4wd,, got me wondering.

Nothing special about it. People put 460s in 4wd trucks all the time. At the time these trucks were made the 460 wasn't available for 4wd trucks only 2wd.
Making a 2wd truck 4wd is more involved.
