Coolant filter install.

I picked up a kit on ebay with three Baldwin 5134 filters. Good price but no instructions. I can see that it will bolt onto the fan shroud support, but not sure where to tap into for 1) into filter. Can I just tap into the water pump like I did my 7.3? 2) Best place to let it back in the system?

I hope this picture helps. The input line tees into the line from the degas bottle to the rad and the other line tees into the line going to the heater core.

I installed the Dfuser Coolant Kit & here's a link to the installation instructions:

Good luck!

Here's a overall view of my Sininster install. The hose going to the rear by the heater box is however incorrect.

This is where origonally put the larger "T" fitting.

Turns out if your truck has the vacume operated heater control valve (depends on model) the "T" should be installed BEFORE the valve, toward the front of the engine like this.

Also, I like these style clamps. The sell them for fuel lines on TBI equipped vehicles.

The bracket for the filter base just bolted up over this radiator mount stud. Yours may be different.

Pretty simple install. Maybe 30min. Be sure to lube the seal on the filter so it will come off next time without bending the mount. A little motor oil, Vaseline, whatever will be fine.
Good luck!

Also, when it comes time to buy more filters, any of these will fit. Remember to NOT get filter pre-charged with SCA (Supplemental Coolant Additive) unless the coolant you're using specifies it. Many filters fit this base AND contain SCA. None of the filters on this list are "pre-charged"

I'm confused by your comment above.

Just to avoid a mistake, The input line to the filter comes from the heater hose, the return line goes up to the degas bottle.

I'm not sure that was clear.
