I have heard that an ICP > 600 is required to start the engine. I was wondering what the ICP limit is for the engine to stop running.
At idle I am a 640 +/- 2psi but on a coast down (no throttle coming to a stop light) I have seen downwards of 595 psi for a reading or two (using Torque to monitor). Is this something to be concerned about? I just did am oil change yesterday with motorcraft oils and filters and still see the same readings so it seems to be independent of oil age.
Actually it's >500 to start. Mine idles at 585 all the time. You're fine.
I seen on something that someone posted here that 625 was desired. Mine is like yours as it idles at about 585. Glad to see that this is normal. I love this truck and this engine but sometimes paranoia gets the best of you. To the OP, sorry for the HiJack.

Early 6.0 ICP desired is slightly higher than the later 6.0 engines, 620 vs 580.
Most scanners only see ICP desired versus ICP actual which is based off the ICP volts.
