It's licensed as a collector vehicle with '47 plates. It doesn't leave the island, but the island is 75 sq miles. I sold the '37 for more than the cost of shipping and fixing the '47. The '37 was a really cool truck, but like said before the '47 does the hauling with a lot more confidence. Actually the '47 will be called into service tomorrow as I off load a bunch of salvaged wood off my '92.
so cool to see an almost 70 year old truck still working that hard. goes to show that a ford truck will never die if you treat it right!
Thanks! It was a blast fixing that old wreck up and I hadn't seen the thread for a long time. There is a youtube video my kid made so you can hear the flathead rumbling through the plumbing twice pipes. I think it's called something like 47 2 ton first drive. I drove it yesterday and it started almost immediately in sub freezing weather. If you find the video maybe you could post a link because I don't know how to and then it will be chronicled in this thread.
Thanks, GB
Without looking it's a '58 panel I got for 300 bucks and traded to a kid for mowing my lawn which he he never did so I repo'd it and sold it to the original owner for 300 bucks. I am a very good business man as you can see. Two trips with my one ton, load/unload numerous times and break even. Good thing I also make cabinets!
