door panel back pad

I need to replace the fibrous pad that goes between the metal door and the door panel. I have an old one I can use for a pattern. What have you all used for this? I was gonna look at the carpet pad at Home Depot. Any other ideas? I would like the panel tight and solid so it wont rattle with the speakers. btw, my panels are aftermarket, el cheepie one piece that used to use push pins to hold it on. I have replaced the pins with screws for easier access.

I used carpet pad also for a firmer fit. You may have to put sound deadener inside the door to eliminate all the speaker/door rattle, though.

The door insulation between the panel and door will need to be designed for getting wet and dried out or it will stink after the first car wash or rain storm.
If you look trhough some of the vendors here as well as LMC, you can buy them precut and made from the correct material so you don't have that problem. Been there, done that...
