Well, after much pondering I ordered a F250 4x4 CC short bed today with the 6.2. I ordered it because I wanted the 4.30 gears. I was a little worried going from a 7.3 to a gas but the 7.3 didn't really get very good mileage, about 15 empty and 10-11 pulling the camper, but cost 80 cents more per gallon for fuel. I really liked test driving the 6.7 but don't pull a heavy load often and make frequent short trips. I hope I like the new one since it will have to do for several years.
Sounds great jeepnford, make sure to post pics! The 6.2L is a great engine that should serve you well, how much are you planning on towing with it? Did you order the 4.30 gears?

Our camper only weighs about 6K. We might get a small fiver this spring but don't imagine it would weigh much more. The most I ever pulled was about 12K moving a bunch of dirt. I ordered it with the 4.30 gears.

Sounds to me like you got the right truck! 4.30s shouldn't be necessary for a 6,000 lb trailer, but they will make for easier cruising on the freeway with your camper. These gears also give you some more flexibility when you upgrade!
Cool for you!!
My truck is very similar.
Drive it hard from the start and when you get fed up with the tranny get some tunes from Mike at 5Star.
MPG's vary wildly - not widely - wildly. 6 to 22.
Have Fun!!
