Not for this system with the HP pump on the frame.
Besides the check valves were for the pressure lines only and not the return lines.

So that was for models with the HP fuel delivery modules in the tank and no valve on the frame.

If it is truly the return fuel being misdirected to the front tank (whjen the rear tank is chosen) external check valves would not help
