Well I went to the junkyard yesterday and bought a coil off the same truck that I have to see if it works and just my luck now my truck wont start at all unless I jump it at the solenoid with a screw driver then it sputters and dies not too long after i start it

So the key won't start it? Sounds like ignition switch needs replaced?
If you can jump the solenoid, then it has to be good. Must not be getting 12v signal from the key. Of course make sure the neutral safety switch is okay too(if an automatic), or the clutch pedal switch if a stick. That might be killing the signal to the solenoid.
Freighttrain, In a different thread he is trying deal with the starting issue. In response to an inquiry he indicates that the wires on the fender solenoid are loose on the terminals and he can't tighten them. I've suggested that he should replace the solenoid. He still may have other issues, like a key switch or neutral interlock, but with loose wires on the solenoid he's going to have to fix that anyway.
