I have got a shake at idle... it's like i've got a big block with a monster cam...shakes the whole truck side to side and you can see the motor moving... put in reman injectors about 900 miles ago, along with new glow plugs, oem gaskets and harness', frx and hpx. shake started about 2 weeks ago.. don't have an AE, trucks runs like scalded dog when i give the go pedal, no engine light, only smoke is a puff at start up. and the shaking is a idle, any ideas as to where to start? i did put in all ad injectors, took the ae out, don't know if that makes any difference....
Have you replaced the CPS lately? I took mine in for the updated CPS, (didn't know any better at the time ) and now mine shakes too.
Shhhhh!
Im attempting to coerce em to dig deeper to eliminate the possibility of compression issues or one of the brand new injectors dying out early.
If we see good compression numbers... buzz test sounds good... and cct pops an imbalance with 1,3,&8... yeah... were glaring at a cps. But having the diagnostic info can give piece of mind... or bring the root cause to light.

Reason: dang spellcheck.
Reman injectors can do this. The cure is to identify which one is running cooler (laser thermometer on the manifold at idle) and swap it out for warranty.
A loose injector bolt can do this is well... I have a drawer full of these tee-shirts. Torque should have been 130 INCH/pounds. If you use thread locker, it needs the engine warmed to full temp before final torque, then park the truck for 24 hours for final set.
Take a temp, lift the VC over the suspect, and make a plan from there.

Negative.
Torque specs per the service manual state 120. OVERTORQUEING STRETCHES THREADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have a hardened steel alloy bolt going down a blind CAST IRON hole.
Overtightening adds stress, surface tension to the blind hole.
Add heat and expansion and those stress factors increase.
You go over its tolerance and the threads are done.
You came VERY close to this point when you neglected to opt for using a torque wrench when you first did your injectors.
With that being said... this could be what is going on... but i highly doubt it with no mention of excessive knocking/ticking.
Jumping jekters is really not a common condition. It takes quite a bit for all the factors to be right for that to even happen. It really all comes down to installation procedures.
If not a stick actually going south early... and if not compression... im pointing my fat filanges at the cps.
Reman vs. Brand spankin new?
Whats the difference between them?
The freakin price takg.
Cuz guess what... 500 miles down the road... they have all worn differently and are no longer perfectly balanced...
What rpm is the truck idling at? Have you tried taking the FRx and HPx off and seeing if that changes anything? Have you had all the fluid pressures checked? Have you checked the glow plugs, I heard some brands are known for falling apart.
Best case scenario question...
Do you have a tuner and forgot that you left it in lope mode?
its not a everytime i start it thing, it does it sometimes and sometimes it don't, i do have a tuner but it is off right now, i took it off when i took it in for diagnostics...they(ford) determined i had a bad 1,2, and 8 injector....so i ordered a full set of remans with extra goodies a whole lot cheaper than they quoted to fix the 3 bad ones. Did the work myself and truck ran great until now, still runs great except at idle, i get that "cam" shake... the truck only has 120k on it. which i thought was premature on injector failure, but i am the 3rd owner and i have no idea what the previous guys may have put in the tank..Gas? watered down diesel? additives? who knows???? I had the extra cash and went with injectors thinking "hey" put them in now and i can go another 200k with no worries... idles at around 600-750, fresh oil when i did injectors, glow plugs are new motorcraft, and yes the issue is at temp and cold start..i will check with my laser if i have a cold spot, checking compression and the injectors with the vc's off, i will have to wait till i can get a free weekend.....this is a thought...could it be fuel related? i have not done the in tank mods yet....also, should i get a cps from ford or my local international dealer? sorry for the long post.
Anyone around Cookeville, TN with AE that can help a fellow Brotha out? I did read a post where a member would rent AE for a week with a deposit that was refundable. LMK and I'll see if I can find it. Would be nice to baseline your truck when it was good and then compare when it started acting up. I hope the temp reading on the manifolds shed some light on the issue.
I would still like to know the results when it acts up if you pull the ICP connector if anything changes. What about your IPR?
I was thinking fuel also but would it explain an idle issue but then when you lay into it it runs ok? Regardless we should rule it out. Do you have the adapter and gauge for the fuel bowl?
I'm currently running the dark blue/purple from Tousley Ford (now AutoNation) P#F4TZ12K073C. There were no differences comparing the Perdel readings to the grey unit. Here is some info on them.... Which CPS? - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com
