I was having issues with charging(batt. lite version). So I picked up a new/used instrument cluster (w/tach...woohoo) andwireharness.
Is there anything I will need to do whither having all "needle gauges" instead of the 2 lights?
I have 84 f150 (built in canada. Has a 83 wiring layout), I6 (dsII conversion).
I had fuse box, charging(battle.light), issues and no tach.
I picked up wireharness, cluster w/tach from (I think) 81 f250, V8, I think 4x4.
There are about 4-5 spots on the harness that are different.
Any advise as I jump into trying to wire "old" plug onto "new" harness?
You need the complete engine harness, I do not know if the v8 harness will work with the 6 though. Where the problem lies is the charging circuit, your alternator needs the idiot light in the old cluster to charge.
