efi to carb

I just bought a carbed 302 to replace the motor in my 1989 f250 it has a points dizzy in it. I'm thinking of keeping it a carb what would I have to do as far as wiring?

Zf5 so the trans isn't the issue its the issue of time consuming wiring

89 was last year of low pressure tank pumps I think... If so then you can remove high pressure pump on frame (maybe add another fuel filter to take up the space or figure out another way) and then put a low pressure return style regulator at engine.

Wiring will be easy as long as you don't get too ambitious with the cutting pliers.
I have always put carb motor in place and hook up all the existing efi wires, then eliminate from there. If you keep the ecu in place, and back feed through the green coil wire, your tach and fuel pumps I think will work (pretty sure that's how I did it on my old truck years ago). If you leave as much of the efi wiring as possible then your gauges work and everything. Just trim the unused wires once engine is running.

Do you plan on running dura spark or those ugly gm hei distributors. I'd go dura spark because it works how I want it. And you can swap the box for an hei module if you want and keep the better dura spark distributor and pickup.

I'm going to put a adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge on the back of the intake.

The wiring part of it is half way bypassed. The fuel pump relay and plug melted while I was wheeling and have to put a wire from the battery to a toggle switch and to the fuel pump on the frame cause I bypassed the low pressure intake pump by removing the pump and adding a rubber fuel line where the fuel pump was mounted. I was thinking of using a points distributor.

I was going to pull the ecm and remove the injector wiring and go from there

Well if the wiring is already hacked then go for it.
Make sure you keep the wires going to the single prong temp sender and to oil pressure, as well as the green and red wire to coil. Those are going to be used with the carb.
