Hard Shift and Ticking
My truck, 1996 f150 with the 302, is shifting hard into reverse and through the gears. Not enough to say there is a definite problem, but it is noticeable. Other symptoms include a chatter or clacking in the front left wheel well when starting or stopping, which may be unrelated. There is also a clicking/ticking noise from the front somewhere (engine or tranny) under moderate load. When WOT it just shifts hard and acts normal, but in between a normal acceleration and WOT I can hear the noise. The transmission was just flushed and I replaced the front left control arm bushing. I'm thinking I may have a bad U-joint. Maybe a bad ball joint as well. What do you guys think?
On a side note my CEL turned off, it was throwing a PO141 on the rear O2 sensor, after the WOT experiment.
V/r,
John
Hands on what its gonna take, you're going to have to get under it and under the hood find the source. Includes lifting the wheels off the ground, check everything for play.
P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2
Your error code points either a fault in the O2 heater circuit or fault in the sensor itself, odds are it didn't go away by itself.
Come and go type deal suggest dirty/loose connection at some point in the harness, MIL "on" or not code probably still there "Freeze frame".
