When I start figuring what type of wax to use, I go to the Meguiars site. You can plug in your type of paint, weather, pollution, and other factors. The site will then spit out the type of treatment and wax they recommend. So far, they have never steered me wrong
As for a "buffer" i am going to assume you mean the type that is like a very large orbital sander. I have no experience with those, I prefer to use a polisher with either a wool pad, Hard foam or soft foam pad and really good polishing compounds. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_d...re&dir=catalog
that is the polisher that I have. You dont have to buy snapon to buy quality but you want one that is heavy enuff so you arent pressing down, and balanced. That Feels Well built. Adjustable RPM is always nice too. Slow it down around the corners and edges. Those are the best places to burn thru the paint. Some detailers like to use masking tape to protect these areas. Myself I prefer a smaller buffer (3" pneumatic) for better control. Hope this helps answer your questions. If it doesnt, llet us know we will try to help.
