Hay I have a 02 v10 with 175000 on it
my problem is if I punch it when my truck down shifts it falls flat on its face and actually starts to slow down usually anything above 2500 rpm it has no power if I gradually bring the rpm up I can get to about 3000 rpm. Below that it is normal do I need a new motor

Can you provide some background about the engine . When was the last time spark plugs changed (with /without rubber boots ,COP's ?) , PCV & its hose and other vacuum hoses changed ? MAF sensor has ever been cleaned ? any CEL light ? fuel filter changed ? fuel pressure checked ?
I thought it was the plugs they were done late summer but other than the oil and an electrical gremlin I have not touched it there is no engine light this is my wifes truck and it is very dependable never anything with it wife didn't even won't me to change the plugs
I agree completely with the previous posters on things to check, but I would like to emphasize the possibility of a fuel pressure failure under higher engine loading. Been there done that.
Ok I finally got time to change the fuel filter and clean up the maf and it is a lot better I think I need to run some cleaner through the injectors couse it still a touch of lag o and ware do I find the pcv valve I saw a pic online but can not find it anyware under the hood
My 2003 has the PCV valve on passenger side engine cover , somewhat near firewall . It might have a foam cover over the actual PCV hose . Remove the hose and inspect it closely (including the rubber elbow on throttle side ) for cracks .
