Stock 73, 360 with auto transmission. starts and runs great when cold. once its warm it doesn't want to start. when you turn the key it fires for a split second and then nothing, just motor turning over. again hit the key and it fires for a split second and then nothing.
Possibly fried points. When they are badly worn or pitted, the resistance goes up considerably when warm causing the circuit to fail.
I would be inclined to do a full tune up on the engine first if you have not already done so, (plugs, points and condenser, fuel filter etc.) so you have a solid base line and go from there.
