300 engine perches

I've heard these called perches, trees, and towers. But I was wondering if I need 351 perches if I was swapping motors or if the perches are the same, just different mounts. Also, do the mounts need to be moved back or forward at all? Thanks.

When I swapped my 300 out for a 400, I had to aquire engine perches. They are shorter than for the 300. I also had to use the rear mounting holes(drilled from the factory), as V-8's are not as long as I-6's. Since you didn't mention a bellhousing swap, I assume you are putting in a 351W which should work with perches from either a 351W or a 302. I also had to aquire a different clutch pivot which attaches to the bellhousing rather than to the I-6 block.

Depending on vintage of the truck they just bolt on to the back side of the crossmember. With that said the correct engine mounts should drop into the oem holes. The trucks we mainly convert are 80-97 for pushrod engines
