Is there any danger in remote starting the truck and letting it idle while it's still plugged in? I did it quite a bit last winter without any issues.
I did this up until about 3 days ago when I read the following on page 2 of Zerostart's Catalog:
"DO NOT RUN YOUR ENGINE WHILE THE ENGINE HEATER IS PLUGGED IN. This will create an air bubble around the element which will then cause the
element to burn out prematurely."
I didn't add the bold or CAPS, that's from them. Our starting process has now evolved to (1) turning key to cycle glow plugs, (2) unplugging block heater & (3) THEN starting.
