Sounds good guys, Trent what brand and bulb numbers did you use? I will have to order a set as no one around here carries them.
Thanks Tim
Those are 42mm Festoon lights I used, all 3 are the same in there. They come in a variety of lighting colours and LED elements ... in this case you just need directional lighting as there is no point lighting up the inside of the headliner.
Savage - Looks like Trent's been holding out on the FYI for us for sure...
That's exciting Trent, gotta put a smile on your face!
Hopefully, I'm not too far behind you (literally)
Hey Trent, great mod! Are you an electrical engineer? I guess my only concern would be heat build up if left on for a long time. Any other possible drawbacks?

I work on electronics, instrumentation/automation, and telecommunications stuff all day haha.
The LED lights don't run hot. They have a heatsink but they merely ever get warm to the touch, not hot like the original incandescent lights.
The original lights could also be left on for a long time as well if the key was in the ignition. There is a battery saver relay that opens up and takes all the interior and exterior lights out if you leave them on, which is a nice feature (except when you're trying to use the vehicle lights as work lights and they keep shutting off on you!) - basically with this mod I'm not adding any more power (and therefore heat) dissipation to the light fixture than it had originally, just changing the "logic" to turn on lights when I want them to. Previously I would open the door and reach up and flip the switches if I needed more light, then I figured this could be modified to do that for me automatically! Necessity is the mother of invention isn't it?
