Electrical question

So i have a 76 ford f100 4x4 with the 360 and a 1979 cab. The truck hasnt been starting and i beleive i found why . There is a green and yellow wire running off the ignition module on the four probg connector sode that has roasted itself. I followed the green and yellow wire under the dash and its burnt all the way down . I beleive this is what has been the problem with the no start but i was hoping someone could tell me what this wire runs to ? Or its purpose . I followed it through the dash all the way to the glove box if tht helps with wire id. The color doesnt match up with any of my diagrams . I thinkbits the red/blu wire on the diagram because it does run under the dash but doesnt connect to the ignition switch . Any ideas would be helpful and would it be possible depending on its purpose if i could just splice it to a positive lead( when ignition is engaged) any help would be great thank you

GREEN with YELLOW stripe is hot-at-all-times power for the courtesy lights. At no point does this circuit interface with any part of the ignition system.

The ignition module does have a GREEN wire in the 4-terminal connector; this is primary return current from the coil. It does not pass through the firewall and does not enter the cab at all. The engine will not run at all without this circuit intact.

Only if you're interested in starting an electrical fire.

An aftermarket wiring harness sorry stupid phone posted beforebi could finish. But ivthink the original color was red and blue. Its the only other one i can think of and the diagram says it runs to the ignition or starter relay i think . All of the instrument goodies have power and work just fine tho :/

I can't understand anything you're saying, other than something about RED with BLUE stripe. RED with BLUE stripe is hot-in-START power to the starter solenoid and the ignition module start retard input. It has nothing to do with the primary current path and therefore nothing to do with the wire in question (GREEN).

Your posts are typically quite incoherent.

I appologize . Im having to type this on my phone ( i dont have a cpu) but what i am saying is i think its an after market wiring harness and the wire that fried is green with a little yellow stripe that leads to the 4 pronged connector on the ignition module but all of my witing diagrams i have dont show a green and yellow only a blue and red wire. Thats where i was thinking that oringinally the grn/ylw was a red/blu as per the diagram.

Your thinking (at least what I can decipher) is incorrect. I've listed the function of each signal in question as per the factory configuration. That's that. It's not clear what your question is, if there even is one.
