I just installed my new manual warn hub locks. Plugged the vacuum and popped those suckers in. When I put the center caps back on it leave a big gap there because the new hub locks are shorter. Is this normal. Can I get different center caps that fit better? If anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know what you did. Right now I just left it like that cause it's not that big of a deal. I just hate for mud and other stuff to fall in there.
Mine are a fair bit shorter as well. I just left it. Not a really big deal for me.
In my case the Warn hubs were close to half the price of the Ford hubs. Mine were actually ok, just a vaccuum issue. I'll put them up on ebay. That should just about cover the cost of the Warns.

Can you post a picture? I was told they were bigger in diameter and would not fit through the center cap but it sounds like that isn't the issue.
My truck is for work so I don't care how it looks, I would hate for salt and mud to always get caught in there. They sell a conversion kit, wonder if that would solve the issue. Maybe that would bring them closer to the center cap opening. But if they stick out too much I would have to shave the cap. Either way I don't want to deal with it, just sucks. Wish there was a center cap from another model vehicle that would fit.
