I installed a set of Warn hubs about 4 years ago after my OEM set seized up.
Haven't had an issue since.
Today was the first day I engaged the 4wd since last winter....she didn't skip a beat, 4 Hi and Low.
ok awesome does anyone know where the vacuum lines for the auto locking would be by chance ? is there a way of capping them off in the engine bay i just want to make sure i have the right vacuum lines before i go and cap vacuum lines that would run heat vents or something along those lines

There is a vacuum solenoid on the passenger side inner fender, If I remember right it has two vac lines on it. One comes from the engine the other goes to a T by the front axle and splits off to each hub. I left all my vac lines on and just unhooked the line that comes from the engine and plugged it.
ok so theres lines coming from the engine going to the selonoid on the passenger fender and you said just cap the ones on the block ? do i have to disconnect the electricity from the solonoid ?

I didn't , all I did was cap off the line coming from the engine..easiest way would be to have the truck running and remove the two lines, the one with a vacuum is the one that needs to be plugged
It takes almost a full turn to lock it into position. I don't see how it would just "slip". Sounds like a defective pair maybe?
I just plugged the vacuum lines with a screw so I wouldn't have any leaks. The barb fitting on one side was broken on mine so I couldn't leave it hooked up even if I wanted it.
The autos are great when they work. Mine didn't and the warn's gave me the peace of mind. Yeah I have to lock them but if I think I might need 4wd, I'll just lock them before I leave, then I just have to engage the transfer case if I do need it.
I am not aware of any speed limits.
The premium ones are all metal. The regular model has some plastic parts.
I agree 100%. Anything that fits like it belongs and you don't have to pay extra is rihjt up my alley. But when they don't work as good anymore and you are going to have to spend the money, I wholeheartedly believe that you might as well get something better. Especially if it's cheaper. Which I found them to be.

There are thousands of good used ones around and they are easy to fix anyway, so A lot of people buy them when their hubs are still good or just need a little fixing so they can screw up the fit and lighten their wallet I guess, anyway I am done with this thread so 'yall can keep justifying them.
Maybe a little bling bling? ..........lol.

I have had Warns on mine for four years here in Minnesota with zero issues. People can say what they want about the oem esof units and how the Warns "lighten your wallet" but I'd rather spend a few dollars for reliability than be stuck when I need them! The only drawback is they don't come out flush with stock centercap, but there is another thread where a guy modified his centercaps to fit.

Because some ppl want to have better quality on there truck and we all can agree that ford and other manufactures skip on thing when building vehicles. And from what I have seen the stock hubs are junk and they will keep breaking.
Anyways, I used wheel paint to paint my hubs. Took them apart and scuffed them up first. The paint isn't sticking all that great on one of them. But I like the warns way better than the stockers. Mine would lock in everyother time I needed them. Plus the dial was froze in place so I couldn't manually lock them.
I just unplugged a vac line at the "T" and capped it. Other than that, warns are a direc bolt on. Same hub from 79-04 F350s and some F250s.

Glad you got a pic, that is exactly what I did as well..
