hey guys , I've been searching the threads for egt problems and I cant find the post where someone posted a Pic of the exhaust system showing the locations of the egt sensors and the labels like bank 1 sensor #xx , Anyone know where it is .
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rich
tHANk you TO all THE TYPIST instructors who commented ON my CAps lock issue,I tHOUght this WAS A TrUcK FOrum, I DIDNT realize this forum had SO mANy rules... On a serious note thanks for getting me lined out on proper posting etiquette.
On a more serious note since replacing my egt sensor and clearing fault codes my truck has been running like a top. Tonight on the way to work I noticed a strange smell when stopped at redlight and white smoke coming from exhaust. Anybody have any idea what the issue could as I'm pretty sure this is not normal.
Not knowing you climate and if the truck was cold is preventing anyone from answering you question, but if it's cold outside and the truck is cold, you are likely seeing condensation that dissipates as the truck warms up. Perfectly normal.

Exactly.....or it could've been in a regen in a pretty cold environment as well. These don't generally ' smoke' like the 6.4s do in regen, but it also depends on the environment .
It was cold, well what we in Houston consider cold high 40's and my truck had idled awhile before I drove into work. Pretty sure you guys are right about the regen cause as soon as my truck warmed up on the way home it started a regen cycle. Thanks for the help
Hey Welcome to FTE ! Glad you got your truck working, and thanks for letting us know that. Nothing worse then someone that posts once and then never comes back. I'm glad you didn't take it to serious when everyone was getting on you about your first post. There is a great group of guys here, but sometimes like I said someone will sign on here, bad mouth there truck or just complain up one side and down the other about a problem they are having never introduce them selves and then never show up again. Spammers for the most part and probably don't even own a Ford. So I am glad you came back. Introduce yourself and stick around a bit.
Just got off the phone with my parts guy at Walker Ford in Clearwater, FL. He informed me that the p/n:AC3Z-5J213-D EGT for all 6.7L diesel engines has been put on FMC restricted list for dealer installation only. And no other dealer in Florida (or possibily USA) will sell one to an independant repair shop. The dealers are also out of stock on this part. I have a fleet with six of these 6.7L engines and now I have one out of service due to unavailibilty of the replacement part. Is anyone else out there running into this problem or just us in Florida?
