Hey everyone. I have a quick question for you all. There is quite a bit of play in my steering wheel and my horn and cruise control are also not working. This all happened about a week ago when I turned the wheel and heard a crunching noise. Im pretty sure its a bearing or something inside the column that busted. And when I went to the parts store today, none of them carry or heard of a bearing. They all also said that I would need to swap out the whole column itself. Just wondering if that's true and any information on the swap. thanks

I recently rebuilt the tilit column in my '95 F350. It is fairly involved but can be done. There are two bearings on the shaft that wear out and fail. I found a rebuild kit online for close to $100 then I found that LMC Truck sells the parts individually. If you search their site you will find it pretty easily. Also search this forum for tilt column repair/rebuild, a lot of info will result.
