Yes, I'm getting a WTS light and a little white smoke, got the block warmer plugged back in this morning, gona try again after I make sure no water is in fuel filter, also engine is making a knocking or rattling sound when trying to start.
I am looking at buying a 550 with the 7.3 and it actually had the same issue. Turned out to be the filters in the sending unit within the fuel tank. They get gummed up = no fuel. It sucks but you have to drop the tank to clean them. Check your air filter and fuel filter on top of the engine too. The sending unit is a last resort but might be the issue.
Thanks "Crewcab", the sock in the tank was changed last year, may have 5.000 miles sense. Don't drive it much in summer, I have a Jeep I like ti drive when warm, moving this weekend and need the truck.
One easy way to check the fuel system is to open the yellow fuel drain, with a hose on the pipe directed to a clean container, and key the pump on. You should get a healthy flow. A sputtering trickle would indicate a problem somewhere in the fuel system, be it pump or clogged strainers in the tank, whatever. If in doubt about the flow take a video so we can have a gander.
