Collecting parts for my 1975 c600. I've never owned a Ford with anything bigger than a 460. my '75 has a 360 and needs something. working on gearing because my top speed is 50mph and my mpg is 5. any thoughts on rebuilding a 534 ci ?? is it too odd or rare ? Thanks
A Buddy of mine still has a 1968 F-1000 Super Duty with the 534 Gas and a 10 speed Road Ranger, Restored the truck in the 90's, He did many years of plowing/Sanding, Gravel, Paving etc. with the truck, He told me that engine and tranny was a great combo for plowing, a couple years he plowed for the town, one section of winding twisty uphill section, starting from a near stop sign, 11' plow Down, plowing uphill, Jet with sand in it, up-shifting through the gears up-hill, was very impressed with it !
Dom just passed away 11/25/13, only 56 yrs old, Dreaded cancer got another Great one !,, The F-1000 is pretty rotted now, but still alive, we used her off road crushing gravel this summer, that truck can sit for months, hook the jump Pak to the Battery and she fires right up and purrs sweet, Dom was not a Ford Man, But the Old Ford trucks made Him a Believer ! RIP Dominic, Your Friend ,,Mark
