what do i have?
I was wondering what tranny i have? It's a '68 F-100 360 with 3 speed. I'd like to know for future refs what I got. It is probaly a stupid question but were all 3 speeds the same or were there different #'s. If you know please let me know. Thanks

You have the T89F tranny. Ford used them in their trucks starting in the 60s or possibley late 50s. They're good trannies and what I learned to drive on so I can attest that they can take lots of abuse. The ratios should be : 1st gear-2.99, 2nd gear-1.55 and 3rd gear-1.00 There are different manual 3 speeds (don't recall all of them), the common thing being that they were used in light to medium duty trucks. Heavy duty type trucks used 4 speed trannies that had super low first gears--like 6.7:1. 4 speeds were also options on 100 series trucks. Hope tht helped. I'm envious, I'd love a 360-powereed truck.

I guess a 360 is a good thing? jus kidding you know it runs great and every thing and i got it for hundred bucks ...she juus aint pretty yet. thanks alot man ,you've been helpful
