I vote you got a bad turbo. Like I said, pay the extra and have a new one installed on them. Either way if something else caused it they should of found out what it was before install.

These Values look good to me, VGT is running what it should , I"M thinking reman turbos have not been nice to you.trying to dig up more Info but my house right now is like GRAND CENTRAL.
Thank yall for the info. I really do appreciate it. 04badford, I see you have a garrett turbo, which one is it? Anybody have some good ideas on which turbo is best, BRAND NEW ford or an aftermarket that is bolt in?
Your talking about the Garrett PowerMax that Riff Raff sales correct? I read that it is the turbo that Ford should have used but tried to save money. Doesn't it need a tunner or programmer though? if so what kind and how much is it?

I'm not sure I allways hear good things about the Power max, my stock turbo is still kickin, I was looking at them from riff raff last year and I forgot if it requires some sort of tune I hope not.
I think im goin to talk to the mech and see if he'll return the reman turbo to ford and order me a powermax and install it. from what Im researching I don't need to worry about a warrenty from the mech shop. Just need to find out if Im going to have to do any programing.
After researching some more, that is the conclusion I have come to. Thank you Bonanza for reassuring me. It is a drop in, with no programming. But, a tune can really open her up. Thanks a lot FTE for helping me with this, know to the mech shop to work with them on a warrenty work with a PowerMax.
I actually priced at riff raff a powermax, oil supply and drain tube (just to be on safe side), new CAC Boots, Metal cold side pipe, and a new VGT connecter (I broke mine on first rebuilt turbo) it was with shipping $1590. Not a bad price.
Were Glad we could help you and hope this will solve the problem your having
But In the Future , To The respect of our in house Ford Techs here Please don't mention steeler ship, you may get a better response from them
Please keep us posted on how the Power max handles and if it fixed the Problem
I'm so sorry. I didn't even think about that. Definitely didn't mean any disrespect. And definitely don't want to get on anybody's bad side so soon. Again, to whom had read my previous post, I am truly sorry. One of those open mouth insert foot moments. Again truly sorry.
After having my turbo go on me a few years ago I went with an ATS Aurora 3000 turbo, long story short truck was in the shop for 6 weeks cause I kept getting non working ones from ATs and it cost me 4000. company said they would help pay for the labor of 3 turbo removals but never covered the cost, owner lied right over the phone to me stay away from them!
