Yea bbender we got to the duck blind about thirty minutes late, ten minutes before legal shooting BUT I got three ducks and had a amazing time with my seven year old. I'd post a picture but I have no idea how to do that with my iPhone on this app lol
And dick yea I tried to see if his insurance would work out a deal for a road armor or similar front bumper. They pay the cost up to the replacement OEM parts and I'd pay the rest but they said no.... I tried though lol

Well see that's not their call. You find a shop that's willing to work with you. Get a quote for everything oem then they cut the shop a check and you have the shop buy you a road armor and pay the difference to the shop. Buddy did it with his jeep. Lady fell asleep at the wheel and hit his 4 day old 2013 Rubicon and he got an arb bumper out of the deal doing exactly as described above.

Last summer someone creamed my rear bumper and ran off. Explained to the adjuster my plan, he just cut me the check for the damages. I paid the body shop to touch up the bed as if I were a cash customer, took the rest and applied toward a Fab Four rear bumper. Perhaps tell them your going to not fix it but just need to be compensated for loss.
I'd keep an eye on what they plan to use. I have seen Allstate claims come thru the shop and they use either the cheapest after market parts or used in most cases. Maybe it's different when its not their customers car but I would try to get oem stuff if possible.
i finally got the police report yesterday afternoon, i had to call the guys insurance three times and finally got a hold of the agent today and now have to wait till next wednesday for the allstate adjuster to come and take photos and give me a rough estimate. Then i can go to my body shop and get the real estimate done and have my truck fixed. Even though i was mad a yelled at the guy who hit me he did tell the cop he "just didnt see me" and pulled out without stopping so his insurance is paying 100%
How can someone not see a truck as big as a Super Duty? Texting and driving or drinking?

I did that with my F250. Shop was very happy to help with that swap.
I put a Warren Classic on that truck.
With all said and done your both OK and that is what counts.
I have no idea how he didn't see my truck but somehow he didn't. And Allstate is paying for the repairs but I'm using my own body shop that I've used in the past and I know the owner well and the shop only uses OEM parts so I'm good there. Monday I'll talk to the body shop owner and see if he will swap the parts for the road armor.....
man that sucks, but doesn't look too bad. im sure you'll get her patched up soon.
i hear ya on people not seeing your truck... it just amazes me how some people cant see these trucks coming down the road. i've had some close calls this year.
Stuff happens, and despite all the internet big talkers everybody makes mistakes. No reason to get angry at a car accident IMHO, it's not like he did it intentionally.
Glad to hear plans are in the works to get the truck fixed. Modern cars are designed to absorb energy in an accident to protect those inside. It's all very well engineered, and some of the high strength steel used in passenger cars is NOT cheap. Looks like both vehicles did their jobs just fine because nobody was hurt.

I will have to say that I disagree with not getting mad at people for accidents. I personally believe in 90% of car accidents are somebody's fault for not paying attention or doing something their not supposed to EX texting, talking on a phone, eating while driving, etc. If people would actually think about their actions we would live in a much safer world. I would absolutely yell and scream at a guy who hit my truck or my god forbid my wife's car. Does it solve anything? No. But it does allow him to recognize his mistake and my wrath, which hopefully will enable him to be more careful next time.
Buddy here in VA installed a quick access truck mod to some girl's car. She backed down the driveway STRAIGHT into him. She never stopped before entering the road. His 2003 was totaled out, netted him a 6.4L. She had just dropped off Daddy's insurance.
i saw that on FB, sucks that it was totaled!
luckily it does not look like your truck is going to be totaled though lol
Sorry to hear SDS
At least there isnt any injuries & damage to Truck is minor, definitely agree on a Big ol Bumper though & iam sure the BS will work with u
Post pic's after repair so we can see the Big Bumper
got the adjuster here this morning and even though he added all new bumper brackets, new fog lights for some reason and he even added a frame square check ALL the parts are aftermarket crap. No worries cuz my body shop owner said dont sweat it ill make a call and we will only install all OEM parts. Gotta love a great body shop!
