Swapped out the orange covers for smoke ones on my truck and noticed that 4 out of 5 bases have cracks at the rear end of the lights. One screw would barely hold in as the plastic around the screw was all cracked which makes the hole larger.
Is this a common issue? Will Ford change them out under the ESP warranty?
You can only try with your dealership. I suspect they will say no (because they are susceptible to being hit by something), but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Thanks, I'll ask next time I'm there. As long as they don't start to leak I expect they're fine but if Ford won't replace them maybe I'll just buy a smoked set with bases.

I have bought several sets over the years and I have never seen where you can buy the base. I believe you will have to buy that from Ford. Meanwhile, a little silicone will help prevent water intrusion.

Pacer has a kit that includes the bases, wiring, LED's and lenses. Think I'll bring in a set of those and have a look at them.
I'll have set tomorrow. I'll post up the pn and what they look like when I get them. Hoping they are good quality and the lenses fit the stock bases. Looks like the headliner has to come down to change the bases and don't want to have to do that right now.
Got the lights in today from the warehouse. It's a complete kit with bases, wiring, switch & LED bulbs. Pacer pn 20-236S. Looks like the caps will fit the stock bases. Don't know what the stock wiring looks like behind the headliner to swap the bases. The lights will likely need splicing into the stock wiring.
Stopped by my local Ford dealer and was told that the cab lights aren't covered by the extended warranty I have. This was the first thing I'd asked about on the warranty so not starting out well on what's covered for failure.
