moter swap need help.
ok i have a 84 ranger in pretty good shape with a 2.9 with 105,500 miles on it an it has a seal out (can't remember the exact one i think it's the main seal)that you have to take the moter out to fix (an it's been pumping oil out like the exon valdez for some time)an i found a very good doner explorer 2001 with a v6 SHOC 16k miles on it an i was wondering what all i would need to swap it in my ranger i need the computer an all but will my 3 speed auto bolt up or do i need the tranny also?? any help would be very nice..

I know that a 4.0L OHV is a good swap, but I'm not sure about the 4.OL SOHC. The bellhousing is different b/t the 2.9 and the 4.0L SOHC. In addition, there are some other issues that people have run into trying to get a 4.0L SOHC into a Ranger.
