I hear ya guys, thanks for the link fordf150guy. I don't have all the stuff to make the injector hold down bracket or an ultra sonic cleaner. Hell, I'm not even certain it is the injector causing the problem. I have until tomorrow to work on it, then I won't be able to until the 23rd. Doing this in the driveway, it's 24 degrees out with the wind chill makes it 14. Trucks been down a week, I've been borrowing a vehicle and I'm sure he wants it back.
Cleaned up the exterior of the injector and the spool valve, gonna throw it back together. Got the new thermostat installed.
Really do appreciate the help fellas!

Link in the tech folder to Blade's stiction fix, he has checking ohms with a digital volt meter.

Yes that's correct, should be about an ohm.

I was afraid of that.

Is it possible you picked up a bad batch off fuel?

Items I would suspect, FICM, EGR valve, or maybe a lifter let go.

These are the #8 cylinder codes, just for reference.

P0282 INJ Cylinder Number 8 Injector Circuit Low........ Open circuit, fuel injector, FICM connector loose
P0283 INJ Cylinder Number 8 Injector Circuit High........ Circuit short to ground or voltage, fuel injector
P0284 INJ Cylinder Number 8 Contribution/Balance........ Power cylinder, valve train or injector

Pull the FICM relay and crank the engine. Does the crank sound consistent? Or is it uneven (low compression cyl). If it sounds even I would throw an injector at it.

My fuel comes from a trucking company, same pumps all their trucks use and same fuel my wife uses in her truck, no reported problems.

All FICM voltages are good ( i could still test), cleaned EGR valve (but could always be bad).

Anybody know of other places that sell rebuilt injectors such as Warren Diesel? Warren said it would be 2 weeks until I would get them. Ain't nobody got time for that! Really want to freshen up all 8, perhaps 175/stock to go with future mods. If not, I'll have to drop $180 on a single Ford reman.
Mr. UPS is bringing me (so far):
STC kit, "blue spring" kit, intake gaskets, turbo mounting kit, both turbo oil tubes, oil cooler kit, dummy plugs, head gaskets with standpipes, exhaust manifold gaskets, banjo bolt washers, oil filter return gasket, heater tube gasket, PCV breather o-ring, all from Tousley (Auto Nation).
As well as an SCT X3 w/ 3 custom tunes from Total Diesel Performance.
Plan is to do injector(s), dummy plug(s), and standpipe(s) now and see if that fixes things. Getting the other stuff to do the studs when it warms up.

Finally my set of rebuilt 175/stock injectors came last week. Got them installed. While I was at it, installed new thermostat, alternator with overdrive pulley, BD Diesel intake elbow, metal CAC pipe, all new CAC pipe boots, two new batteries, blue spring, Glowshift gauges, coolant degas bottle cap, street tune by Tony Wildman, stand pipes and dummy plugs. Well, got her fired up today, hoping to take a nice drive in my truck for the first time in almost 2 months. Nope. Drove her around a bit and she still runs terrible. Runs rough, stumbles, and shakes. If I do a quick near WOT burst she runs even worse after for a bit. I'm at a loss and very frustrated. I'll check for codes and more testing tomorrow.
At idle:
IPR - 22
ICP - 580's
FICM - 48.5 - 49

My fuel pressure gauge stays maxed out at 100psi. Not sure if I hooked something up wrong or have a bad sending unit.

That sucks man. 100 psi? Yea I would be checking that out. Way to much. Have you watched the fuel fill up the filter bowl? Any bubbles? Have you tried unplugging one injector at a time to see if it gets worse or stay the same?

Didn't have the fuel pressure gauge before, just installed it. It goes to 100 KOEO and then when starting, 0, and then back to 100 when running. Thinking I hooked something up wrong or it bad sending unit?? I dunno.

Glowshift website says fuel pressure gauge maxed is a bad ground, so I will look at that.

EGR valve removed and cleaned previously. Other than that, no testing done to it.
