Traction Bars

Hi guys,
Later next year I plan on getting a pair of traction bars and I've been looking for awhile now and I stumbled across ProComp traction bars offered by Black Widow. Have you guys heard anything about these traction bars, ratings, reviews, complaints?

Thanks

If you ask me there all over priced.... For a lot cheaper and a little bit of time you can make your own with the same out come. If you look hard enough you'll find my build thread of the ones I made on my truck. There stupid simple.

They're simple if one doesn't do the math or geometry to make sure that the axle movement and arc of travel are copacetic and not fighting each other. But then again, ANY fixed length off-the-shelf (did I just use that term...man, I've been reading forums too long) "traction bar" setup is going to be too short and bind. The ONLY way to make sure full suspension travel is bind-free is to install/build a shackled set.

Alright guys I get that making traction bars would be cheaper if you have the capability to make your own. I don't have the tools and saws and material to do so. So I understand where you are coming but it doesn't answer my curiousity.

Any link that ties down the twisting of the axle housing is going to work in that regard. Find a set that has the aesthetics and cost you're after and bolt 'em on!

There are a lot of things to consider when buying/building them, but for the vast majority of pickups on the road that don't do anything but get groceries and drop off kids at school, the popular offerings will be sufficient.

Okay now I just have a general question. Do all travtion bars tie directly into the U-Bolts?

No some are bolted and or welded to the axle tube. Cody is spot on there is a lot that goes into them but going to het grocerys and hard core off roading are two entirely different things.

Well the ones I'm looking at are bolt on so I'm guessing U-Bolts then...? It's just a preventative measure for the future. I will be chipped before I install those but I may do bigger injectors in the future, with a bigger turbo. So more power. So traction bars may be needed in the future.

This was one of my recent "Boy, did that make a difference!" mods. [LINK] The link to the product is in the thread, and the price installed was less than many products I've seen not even shipped (for stock height).
