Rear pinion is toast

I'm looking to replace the whole rear end and am wondering if a rear axles from later models '05, '06 fit our trucks without adapters/modifications? Thanks in advance.

Any ideas how late one could go into model year for a 10.5", 3:73, rear axle out of a SRW 250, 350? My truck is an E99.

I think you'd be fine going up to a 2004, but 2005's went to the coil over front axle and I'm certain the wheel offset changed at that point.

I'd check ABS wiring, too, in case that changed.

04 will be the same.

If it's an F350, get the "blocks" and U-bolts, too, if you want to raise the rear an additional 1-1/2 inches. The shocks may also be longer-travel.

I got new bolts, can't I just use my old blocks? It was off an 250.

Here is part of my ring gear. I believe this was the cause of my ABS light, sensor was a hacked up too.

Of course.

I failed to notice yours would already have the 3-1/2 inch blocks.

New rear assembly is in, the truck is ready to go. After being sidelined for a month and a half gathering parts and finding a good engine to do the motor swap and now the rear end swap. ABS/speedo not functioning is also fixed with the rear end swap also. Finally, I have been missing my truck...my pocket is a little lighter though.

i went the 04 route only to find out, the threads are a fine pitch and the yoke would need to be changed, thus, having to "re-crush" a new crush sleeve. With that said, i found another 99-03 axle. The 04's collecting rust under my boat at the moment..

I knew about the threads, I just got new lug nuts. The only other thing I had to do was get a different left side caliper.
