Missing Adapter Between Inj. Pump and TPS

I have been closely following the recent threads about the Diesel FIPL Sensor (TPS) and thought many of the problems described in the posts were manifest in my truck...so I set off to take some readings; nothing changed with throttle position. So I figured I had a bad TPS and went to O'Reilly's and bought a new BWD TPS. When I went to remove my old TPS (27 torx) I discovered a piece missing from my truck. The local dealership identified it as an "adapter" p/n 9F879. This is the piece held on to the injection pump with two little set screws set 90 degrees apart.

None of the local parts stores have the part listed and the Ford dealership says it is no longer available.

Anybody out there have a spare they can sell, know of a place I could buy one, or have a good part number?

Thanks!

you have to make sure you keep your FIPL/TPS bracket before sending in your core ip as they're no longer in production.if you took it to a local reman facility,go back and ask them for it.you might get lucky.otherwise you'll have to salvage yard hunt or post up a "want to buy" thread (if racer doesn't find one for ya) here:
WTB - Parts & other

actually, you may want to get a thread right up in the section to start getting the word out your looking.if you get any hits, just line it up while racer is checking.i suggest this, because your truck is inop without it.

New Adapters Available Through Stanadyne

My local diesel shop, Industrial Diesel in Norfolk, VA found them. The Stanadyne P/N 28538 for the adapter and P/N 28534 for the small set screw. The large set screw was NLA, but I bought one at the local hardware store. Cost me $39.00 with $11.00 of it for overnight shipping. $0.27 for the hardware store set screw. Pass it on guys!

P.S. I bought the truck this way...this problem was the work of the previous owner.

The new adapter is installed and it works like a charm! The set screw I listed in the previous post has a small tit on it which matches the diameter of the pin I removed from the throttle shaft. Put the small set screw in the 9 o'clock position and it indexes to the shaft. The other set screw goes in at the 12 o'clock position and it just gets tightened down. Easy-peasey-lemon-squeezy!
