engine unknown,

Hi guys my 79 ford has a what i think to be either a 429 or possibly a 460,it used to have a 351m but it has since been swapped, without getting the numbers off the block the only other id was on the front part of the right valve cover if your facing the engine.it reads as follows.

C 91592AB C 60
2 R 16
abcdefeghijklm S 14
123 7
1234567890

I have no idea what any of it means but if you can help please do thanks...mike

I know the 385 series engines has 7. Does it have a seperate timing cover made of aluminum? And is the thermo stat housing attatch to the intake or the block?

This info is the calibration sticker for your engine.
Your engine calibration number is :

7-60-R16

Go to my web site and find the calibration coding & specs links at the bottom of the Index page.

8 bolts on the valve cover is either a 351M or 400.

385 series engines have 7 valve cover bolts.

engine unknown,

Calibration codes starting with 7-60 are a 351M. It also appears to be for an F100 w/ automatic.

engine unknown,

It means your valve covers are from a 351M - perhaps they are original with the truck. In 25 years, a lot could have happened to the long block. Someone could have swapped in a 400 from a car - and moved a bunch of the original parts over.
