fast idle won't catch
I have a 1991 4.9, and when I start it cold, It acts like it's starving for fuel, some times it will catch and rev up to fast idle speed, but some times the tach flutters around 700 rpm then stalls, always starts fine on the second try. I though maybe I was trying to start it too quick, before the electric fuel pump primed up, but not sure if that is it, now I turn the key to the on position for a couple of seconds before I start, not sure if that helps sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't, is there a check valve in the gas line, that maybe letting gas siphon back to the tank, any clues? thanks:
