I want to go look at a 1981 F150 2wd 6Cyl Auto. seller asking $1500 mileage assumed high.
looking at the tailgate the right side of the box looks much lower than the left, the top edge of the tailgate does not look aligned with the top edge of the front cargo wall under the rear window (again much lower at the right rear corner of the box). likewise looking a pics from the side the same corner looks low.
are there things I should be looking at given this appearance in pictures?
is this common? did someone dump a heavy load from the other side and overload just over the right rear wheel?
is it possible to look like this if the springs are bad on that side? bed alignment? new bushings? (I'm totally unfamiliar with the construction of this vehicle)
Where is it from? Here in the rust belt, frames and mounts are prone to rust. Many a truck broke its frame behind the cab where debris collects on the frame from the space between the cab and bed. ~Bill
