Let me know if you see something, I found nothing tonight, prices are 399 to 263 new.. Although I was looking at the bottom of a bottle more then looking.. you get into a pattern, it is hard to stop
morning. doing glow plugs at Mikes today. was planning on noon but i can't legally buy the necessary supplies to complete the job until 12:00 so it'll be a few minutes after..
overall pretty good. the worst part was getting the old harnesses out, since they were so brittle they'd just break when trying to pull them off the glow plugs. thankfully i read about this stuff on FTE before i tackle these jobs and had two new harnesses ready to go.
we just removed the inner fender liners and they were right there in front of us. tried the twisted-wire-around-the-boot approach to no avail, then found some scrap metal in the barn and fabricated the equivilant of the tool designed to pull them (but didn't spend the $80 they want for that little piece of formed sheetmetal ). worked beautifaully on 4 of them, 2 others came out with some coaxing, and the other 2 were worst-case scenario, chipping away at them with screwdrivers and prying out the remains. got'r though. did the passenger side first, learned some lessons, then move to the drivers side.. at which point we were greeted with a bunch of crap between us and the glowplugs (oil dipstick, probe in the exhaust manifold, steering shaft, etc). didn't turn out to be too bad, the exception being one of the two worst plug harnesses was right behind all the crap on that side.
drank a few beers and got it done though. i can't thank mike enough for the facility & hands, and Jodi for the goulash. i did have the block heater run for a couple hours this morning since it was 6* outside here, but it started so fast it actually startled me a little. hopefully it's good!
i decided not to walk the dog this morning because of the weather, and still got stuck outside shoveling and salting the parking lot..not a big deal, was dressesd for it. but that was 2 1/2 hours of outdoor time that I could have been doing anything else..
