I have a 2006 Ford F-350 6.0 Powerstroke. FICMrepair.com has rebuilt my FICM and I have purchased a brand new alternator. Now, for the batteries. Should I go with stock 65 series or upgrade to 70 series with 880-1050cca?
Do a search. You can read for hours. Pick one with the price, warranty and store access best for your location. You asked a question that will never have a concrete answer.
X2 on this. I got Kirkland signature from costco. The PO hod put them in about 3 years prior, and Costco full replacement warranted them for me when I got my new alt and FICM.
I just don't want any question on new FICM. When this all started everyone said batts were biggest cause. Now I've invested in everything else so I figured my best next move was to just start out fresh with everything new that seems to have led up to now.
i put a new set of batteries in also because of my ficm problem. i took my old ones in to get load tested and sure enough they were due for a swap out...i went with the diehard's. sounds like there are really only a few to choose from...after that your just buying the stickers the companies put on the outside. i would get yours tested first and see if they are the culprit, or if they are close to 5 years old there abouts you may as well throw the credit card down.
Mine are 3 years old, from Canadian tire (Im in BC, Canada) and there return policy SUCKS. Im thinking about going to Costco as they have a great return policy and the have good Batts
So, went to Carquest and got two batteries with 5 year warranties on 'em for $100 each. This morning, went out to change them and noticed that someone had done something before and wires and stuff were just piled up and hanging. Have most of it straightened out, but not sure where to put a set of relays found hanging upside down under the air filter. Attached you should see a picture. There are four screws attached, so, I'm assuming that they need to be screwed in somewhere-Just goin' out on a limb
