Gas Pedal Question
Stupid I know but this is just the way i am.......do the 1978 Trucks have the spring on the gas pedal ???? or is it model specific??? can the spring go on any pedal????

The spring is on the carb linkage, NO actual spring on the gas pedal itself. At least I have never seen one, its always a cable from the pedal end rod to the carb or a adjustable rod from the pedal rod end to the carb.

There is a spring that I believe came on every pedal. It falls off very easily so you will rarely find a truck that still has it. It keeps the top of the pedal plastic sprung away from the pedal rod. Maybe somebody with a parts lookup can confirm what years they were installed.

Yes are you talking about that spring that goes from the pedal to the rod to give the pedal some spring action from the rod. It does not make the pedal spring off the floor.
