So I have yanked my motor and I am looking for ways to cleanup/hide vacuum, electrical, and trans lines to clean up the engine bay. If I run a large remote cooler should I still keep the radiator cooling for the trans fluid?
Secondly, Any ideas on what can be deleted under the hood. i.e. Non essential or redundant vacuum, any suggestions or images would be appreciated.
Nope, you don't need the cooler in the radiator if your new cooler is big enough. Some folks will say that the radiator cooler actually helps warm the transmission up in cold weather, but in my experience (not that it gets freezing cold here) it doesn't matter when you also have the factory external cooler, since that cools it back down again after leaving the radiator.
I'd go ahead and install a new remote cooler and also a trans temp gauge so you can monitor the temperature.
I personally don't like the radiator cooler either. If it blows and you get antifreeze in your transmission, it'll destroy the clutch packs.

thanks, was thinking the same thing you said. In california if we get down to 28 degrees its really out of the norm for our winter weather. Seen some really nice coolers, and the gauge was a definite addition to this build. Im building a small console to accommodate, oil temp, oil pressure, trans temp, and A/F as well as a CB radio, couple of cups and remote power for laptop, phone charging and USB connections for stereo. It will sit over the hump and blocks the ashtray.
