Fixing Broken Tail pipe

The tail pipe on my 1994 F150 broke off right where it meets the muffler and was wondering if I could do a temporary fix by brazing it with a plumber's propane torch and some silver solder . The solder's melting point is about 425F. Is this going to hold up until I get enough money saved to fix/replace it properly? How long do you think this fix will last? If not what other ideas do you recommend?Or does anyone know how much a shop would charge to weld it? and how far would the truck be able to drive like this? I'm asking the last question because I live in a rural community and the closest shop would be about 50km drive unless I can find someone in town to weld it for me. Thanks.

You'll never generate enough heat to melt that solder with a propane torch, never mind the fact the joint would have to be super clean and a bunch of flux for it to stick.

Every shop and area has dramatically different prices, call a few shops for a general ballpark figure.

How bad is the break? I've never paid more than $30 to have a muffler welded up, actually that was for a pair on my mustang. I'd just get it fixed. You don't really need a tail pipe though, mine is dumped after the muffler.

It's broken right off and for $30 that's not bad at all I've been wanting to get the whole system changed back to the original system as the previous owner did a backyard job but I can't afford it at this point in time although it would be the perfect opportunity. So you guys don't recommend the silver braze then...? Thanks

I'd rather do it right the first time.
