I just called a local shop about having my muffler deleted on my '18 F250 6.2 and adding ss pipe in replace and was quoted 475!!!!! They told me they would have to add a rice pipe in place and would have to tune it to the truck...... I've never heard of such, I just want to delete muffler and add a pipe. I'm definitely going to call around, but don't most exhaust shops carry pipes to stick back into place?
I’d avoid that shop. “Tune” a bypass pipe sounds the equivalent of replacing muffler bearings. It should cost an hour labor and a piece of leftover pipe at most. Sounds like they quoted you the price of a cat back re-pipe.

Thanks for that. I'm curious if I should just buy a pipe from summit for 65.00 bucks and take to exhaust shop to put in place of muffler...

I wouldn't even do that. I would go to a muffler shop, walk up to the guy who does the work. Show him $40 and ask him to rack it and do it with pipe they have there.
I had both of mine removed and it droned too much for me (especially in 6th at around 2k RPM). I took it back and had an aftermarket muffler added instead which gave me more of a happier medium ground.
Although I towed my 7k lb trailer for the first time since the delete this weekend and it started droning again - so now it has me questioning if I should go back to stock or not.
