Fuel gauge location?

I just received my Isspro fuel gauge from Riffraff and was curios which port on the fuel bowl to get the most accurate reading, or does it matter? Top driver side is pre filter and lower pass side is post filter. Thinking about going post filter port.

Post filter is a good choice since it is out of the way and fairly protected.

I think thats what I'm going to do. I know it's a little tougher to get to but more protected. Thanks for your quick response.

It looks tougher than it is. I have the sensor pre filter on my 99 and post filter on my 2000. I will probably move them both to the post filter spot someday.

Post filter for me. Allows you to see the pressure you are actually getting, vs what the pump is putting out. The difference is filter restriction.

I went post filter when I did mine. I thought it was a little tricky to get to. Hardest part for me was trying to get a wrench that would fit in between all the stuff around it to tighten it. I have been getting a fuel pressure reading of 60-65psi. Do you guys with fuel pressure gauges still replace fuel filter on regular intervals or do you wait for the gauge to start showing a drop in psi?

That's a good question. I replace mine on the odometer, not the FP gauge. If one were to use the FP gauge, they would have to use the WOT method to get an accurate test. If your pressure drops below 45 PSI under normal driving, you've gone way to far... or you're a spunky driver.

The filter is not just about dirt, the OEM is also about water. I don't know the dynamics of the water part of the filter, so I don't push the filter past the recommended schedule.

This is great information. My Isspro gauge came in from Clay last week and I have not had the time to install it. My question, is there enough lead to mount the gauge in a pod above the rearview mirror?

I went post filter with mine and I used a 45 degree fitting between the adapter and the sender and angled it upwards making more room for the connector.

Good info, I'm going to try and get mine installed post filter tomorrow and will take some pics.

brwolfjr, I would think there should be plenty of wire from above mirror to fuel bowl.
