1952 F2 conversion to Flat Bed - need running boards
I'm converting a 1952 F2 to a flatbed and was looking for a set of running boards that would fit. Would any after market from another year fit ok or do I need to find an original? Or should I just take some F1 boards and cut them off and round them out so that they just look like the right ones?
Any thoughts?

Depends if you want it to look right, or cheesy. The right way to do it would be to find a set of big truck boards. They show up on eBay, or one of our guys might have a set available. To do this you'd also want the board supports since they are longer than the ones supplied with the pickup beds. Stu

yes, I believe you are correct! I should have a set.
I'll have to dig them out this weekend and see what they look like.
I wont be needing them so if you cant find anything closer I can probably help you out.

I see from your profile that you live in Alabama. It'd be helpful at times like this for you to list your home town or area where you live in the upper right corner of your postings. You can enter that by going into the "User CP" page that you went to when you set yourself up here. Because Alabama is a big place.
Reason I mention it, there is/was a factory F-2/F-3 flatbed sitting in Stutesman's yard in Casey, Illinois. Casey is in southern Illinois, and if you live in northern Alabama it wouldn't be a bad road trip to rescue the bed. It's not in perfect shape, but I didn't see anything about it that couldn't be fixed. IIRC they want $250 for it. The phone number is (217)932-2530. Team this with a set of factory short boards from Josh or Ilya and you'll be set. Stu

Too bad we are not closer as I'm now in the market for a long box. (one in good shape) I have a lead on a couple that are local but need to follow. shipping something like that would be a killer to ship.
anyway I got some pictures of the boards and brackets. you can see them here.
