I am attempting to reinstall my 05 lighted running boards on my 2014 SD. The old wiring diagram instructions have a connection under the threshold wire bundle. It says to connect to the BLACK/LIGHT BLUE wire for the interior lights. My 2014 does not seem to have that color wire. Can anyone please tell me what color the interior lighting is????
There was a thread that said their was a connection on some trucks on the frame rail near the back of the cab. Mine does not have that connection.
So, I must run it the way the 05 was, through the floor and behind the htr/console area and back through the floor to each running board.
I don't want to go poking through each wire trying to locate the right one so, I am hopeful someone can tell me which wire I can tap into that feeds the interior lighting!
Thanks
There's a connector underneath on a lot of these trucks for this purpose, read through this thread and it'll show you where it's located and the type of connectors you can get to plug into it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-time-out.html

Already checked it out, mine does not have the plug. I saw the thread over at Diesel stop and I went out and checked a couple of trucks at the dealer before I ordered mine. Those two trucks were Lariat's and they both had them so I assumed mine would too! Wrong! For some unknown reason my truck they decided to eliminate the extra wire running down the side rail. Just my Luck!
No it is a Lariat, and no there is no plug on the side frame rail. Been under there and done that.
Just went to the Ford dealer where I bought the truck and had the service guy go back and ask the tech if they had the wiring diagram or worse case scenerio could they wire the lights up? He came back and said they do not have enough information on the wiring to do anything but they would do some research and get back to me. I won't hold my breath that's for sure!
