Reason: mod edit
I would look hard at DP Tuner Infinity if I were you. It is a strong diagnostic tool that you can set up in various parameters the way you see fit and monitor and record data. You can set it with many different styles and look at all the parameters the PCM monitors. You can package it with one of DP's chips and have up to 16 tunes. It is cheaper than buying a laptop, Autoenginuity, gauges, and a chip seperately. Click here
Here's how a person NEEDS to look at the situation (written specifically for the 7.3L):
1. Aftermarket products, no matter how they alter fuel rates, can EVER guarantee a fuel economy increase.
2. All aftermarket products ADD to the amount of fuel being injected in some manner because subtracting fuel will become a liability. The greater extent to which fuel is taken away the more of a hazard the vehicle becomes (at some point a slow-moving vehicle placard would be required).
3. Cost doesn't really vary that much between different products out there for these vehicles and you don't always get what you pay for.
4. What you'll read on forums and what is REALLY going on are two completely different things.
With that said, there isn't a single product out there that will increase your fuel efficiency enough (or at all) to justify the $250 to $700+ expense of adding something to the vehicle that is designed to increase power. Power comes from ONE PLACE...more fuel.
Either love your Super Duty for what it is and enjoy driving it or don't drive a Super Duty as a daily driver.

To the OP... If you have any questions about the Infinity, feel free to contact me by PM, e-mail, or phone. I would be happy to help you out.
When and if I acquire the funding, I will be buying an Infinity from DP Tuner. I've been very pleased with my F6 chip since I purchased it and I think the Infinity looks awesome for its data logging, gauge and tuning capabilities all rolled into one.
The F5 or F6 can give you the daily driver, tow, and aggressive/race specific tunes you desire, but as previously said, do not expect any added MPGs.
I have the bully dog triple dog gt gauge tuner. Something like that with a really long name.
Anywyas.. I really like it. I drive 99% of the time on the tow setting. Just enough added power for a nice responsive vehicle.
I also get slightly better fuel economy at that setting.
I'm putting it on a dyno tomorrow so I can post the results when I have them.
Thanks guys. money is just an issue. hell if it wasnt wed all be building dream trucks. step by step im working on upgrading my truck. body work is is being done now and tuner/gauges were my next investment. just didnt know how to go about it. i guess i need to keep shopping around. i like the idea of gauges built into a tuner with monitor and i also like the whole diagnostics added in to to the dp you talked about. its easier for me to spend a little bit of money multiple times rather then one lump some. so its all in the air to me. any more suggestions and info ippreciated id like to know all the info i can.
there were 5 7.3 trucks on the Dyno yesterday.
(sort by HP)
a. 249.97HP 509.41TQ b. 278.16HP 546.09TQ (Mine)
c. 278.9HP 519.91TQ
d. 279.6HP 614.9TQ
e. 281.64HP 543.91TQ
Only mod I have is the bully dog. Not sure what everybody else was running but I do know they were all listed as "modded".
As I mentioned, I like the ease of use and installation.
I pretty much always drive on Tow mode (you can switch on the fly) which gives me the right amount of power for daily driving and some MPG increase although only 1-2MPG.
One thing I really like about the bully dog is the installation... its a 3 step process.. Attach tuner to windshield using the suction cup and plug it into your OBD port. Download software into computer and done!
Not sure if you can do custom tunes though. I do know its not officially supported.
Another thing I like is the ability to read/clear engine codes.

I hope I was able to help you during our e-mail conversation. Don't hesitate to contact me should you have anymore questions.
We have some videos on the site that should help everyone out with understanding the Infinity. Jody has spent a lot of time making them, and they are a great resource. Check them out HERE.
