Talking More Mods

I had the Edge Evolution installed on my PSD on monday. I am very happy with it so far, should've done it sooner. I just have three settings, tow, econo & extreme. I have it set on econo right now but I don't think I am saving any fuel right now. I have done a little tweeking to the program such as shift firmness and fuel supply but I am still experimenting. It is also nice to have gauges for egt, tranny temp and boost. After pricing gauges and chips this was the best way to go for me. I know there may be better out there but after checking things out and having it installed I couldn't be happier right now.

Once you play with a programmer/module you wont drive stock again -- you will be hooked!!!

I had tuners on my last gas truck, then the 6.0, and will be getting one for the 6.4.
My brother just did one for his Dmax and my employee is getting one for his 5.9 Cummins in his dodge!

Enjoy the power. Unless you really bag it, tow too heavy with too high a hp tune, or get on the fuel a bit too much before it warms up, you will be fine!

I am liking this tuner very much. I haven't done much with the fuel but I have firmed up the shifts and that is much nicer, it was very mushy before. After reading up on tuners and talking to different people I feel very safe with my tuner. About the only way they will hurt your engine is if there is already a problem or you abuse it, the fellow that installed my tuner said even if you abuse these 7.3's they will still take it.

I was considering one, but after talking to a few people that had the Edge I figured it was enough for me and what I wanted. The last thing was it was less money, basically I got a tuner and gauges for the same price as the dp. Because of the way you can customize the dp it is probably superior in some ways than the Edge but, for my needs the Edge should work well and so far I am really happy with it.

Well thats good to know man. I know dp tuners are expensive, I would love to try one out though.

Where did ya get gauges from, and how good of a price?! I need to get some so I can start doing some tuning too.

According to my calculations by the time I got the dp tuner it would have been about $600.00, that includes the tuner, display, shipping and exhcange. The gauges are included with the Edge, you can display 4 at a time, right now i have rpm, egt, boost and tranny temp. You can run diagnostics with the it, time 0-60 and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember right now.

Way to go Colin! Sounds really good. Those 7.3's are really tough. I've never been dissappointed with mine.

Find a good 6.0, it may bite you (not likely) but what a ride!

That was hilarious!

Now a days I would look for a 6.4 and tune it if I was really looking for a wild diesel ride.

The tunes they have for those 6.4s are crazy.

Good to hear that somebody's finally getting some real jam out of the 6.4's. I know they're pretty hot right out of the box, but with all the emissions control stuff, you know there has to be more hiding somewhere.
