Replace 7.3 or swap 12v?

Is it easier to throw another 7.3 in or swap in a 12v? I just want to do this one time. The 12v is so much more simple than the 7.3. I want a reliable 450-475hp. I've been researching 12v swaps for hours now, it looks like I'd have to buy motor mounts, trans plate, pcs, flex plate, and everything to hook up gauges and throttle. Also need to move tranny back 2-3'', rear driveshaft need to be made shorter, front needs to be made longer.
Is there anything major I'm forgetting?

Or do I find another 7.3, through in some 200cc injectors, supporting mods and be done? It sure would be nice to be able to rip out all those wires under the hood plus idm, pcm.

You replace the 7.3 do your supporting mods and be miles and and thousands ahead.

EDIT: I'm a guy who supports a 12 valve swap into something that makes sense, an old truck a hot rod you name it if you're going to have to cut and replace hard parts like the frame or suspension anyways. With your truck it's a simple unbolt and rebolt with the ease of doing all the mod work to the new engine while it's still out of the truck.

Lets say I find a motor out of a OBS, will it bolt right in? I think I have to take the driver's side manifold and put it on the OBS motor?

There's only a couple differences between the obs and the sd what they are I'm not exactly sure other then a cover is different hpop is a 15 degree and the sd is 17 degree. The injectors are single shots not split shots.

What happened to your old motor? Do a search here and find out the differences between the two and see if your parts are usable on an obs block... Either way I would count a 12 valve out due to price.
